About Tarz
The theme and the company behind it · August 2026
Tarz (طراز) is an Arabic-first, right-to-left-native Shopify theme: a commercial theme for Arabic-language merchants, authored right-to-left from the first line of CSS rather than mirrored after the fact. It is in final development and going through Shopify's theme review before listing.
Who builds it
Tarz is built by KOL DEALS LTD, a Shopify Partner agency in Cyprus that builds and maintains right-to-left Shopify storefronts. Tarz is the agency's own product and will be sold through the Shopify Theme Store, which handles billing, licensing and installation — no licence key, no activation, nothing that phones home.
Why it exists
For years, the practical way to run an Arabic storefront on Shopify has been to take a theme designed left-to-right and patch it: an override stylesheet to mirror the layout, an app charging monthly to maintain the overrides, and translation work to cover the Arabic locale the theme never shipped. The patching holds until it doesn't — a theme update un-mirrors a component, a price renders backwards inside an Arabic sentence, Latin letter-spacing pulls the connected Arabic letterforms apart. The storefront ends up right-aligned rather than right-to-left.
Tarz exists to remove the patch layer entirely. Direction is not a mode the theme switches into; it is how the theme is written.
How it is built
Tarz is built on Shopify's Skeleton theme with fully original code. Layout is authored in CSS logical properties throughout — there is no rtl.css file in the codebase, so no component can fall out of sync in Arabic. Arabic ships as the default locale, theme editor schema strings included, with English alongside it. Quality is tested rather than assumed:
- Bidi fixture testing. Mixed Arabic-and-Latin content — product titles, variant labels like XL — أحمر, addresses, brand names — is exercised on every template, in both reading directions.
- Native Arabic review. Every Arabic string in the theme is reviewed by a native Arabic copywriter before release.
- Live cash-on-delivery orders. The product form is Shopify's standard product form with app-block support, and COD compatibility is verified with live test orders through EasySell and Releasit — not assumed from a spec sheet.
- Theme Store gates. The theme is built to the Shopify Theme Store performance and accessibility thresholds — Lighthouse performance ≥ 60 and accessibility ≥ 90 averages — and measured against them throughout development.
The packaged build is 52 sections, 41 theme blocks and 16 templates, with a library of 53 licence-audited Arabic font families of which only the families a merchant selects are ever loaded. The full inventory lives on the technical specifications page.
Support
Theme documentation is published in Arabic and English, and it is public — read it before launch if you like. Support runs through the support form or support@tarztheme.com, with replies within 2 business days.
Tarz is not yet purchasable: it is in final form and going through Shopify's Theme Store review. We are not publishing a date we cannot hold. The planned launch price is $300, one time, updates included — join the waitlist for one email on the day it goes live.
